Roy "Weissritter" Atenwood
"It doesn't take much to be a hero. Maybe just a cop who puts a coat around a young boy's shoulders, to let him know the world hasn't ended." - Batman
Character Name: Roy Atenwood
Nickname: Weissritter
Affiliation: Head of a Weapons Development firm for the Earth Federation.
Position/Rank: Millitary Contractor for the Earth Federation
Squad/Team: N/A
Race: Human
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Cybernetic/Bio/Genetic Enhancements:None
Special Skills/Abilities:
Damn good pilot
Expert marksman
Computer programmer
Inventor.
Appearance: (See above picture)
Bio: Roy comes from a long line of millitary and buisinesmen. Which may sound quite strange, but considering the buisines is weapons development, maybe not so much. He had been obsessed with mechs ever since he was a child. Obsessed with piloting them, obsessed with inventing things for them. With his Mother being the CEO of a multi-trillion dollar weapons development firm, and his father being a soldier, he lived a dreamlike lifestyle of getting to help with his mother's work, to in turn help his father.
It was when he was fifteen that they realized he was a prodigy. He had drawn out incredibly detailed schematics for a mech of his own, and had become entirely obsessed with it. Weissritter, he called it. The White Knight counterpart to his ancient comics about the "Dark Knight". He thought that Batman's intentions were good, but he went about it all wrong. Yes, the fact that anyone could have been under the mask was a good idea as symbolism, but was there any point in symbolism nowadays? He lamented such things as he drew, and drew, and sketched for hours, coming up with weapons and even a control system for his mech. His armor, though he wouldn't think of that for a while yet. Instead, he was just obsessed with proving he wasn't just another pansy rich boy living on mommy and daddy's money.
He felt he had to prove he could take over the company when the time came.
And so the Gespenst W, AKA Weissritter, was begun. It started as an unofficial side project that his mother sanctioned within the company, and drew whispers of dissent from shareholders. Until the schematics were shared with the engineers who would be building it. It was a little...different than what they were used to building, but it was a sound design for a flight based mech. So construction began, and so did his training. His mother officially hired him on as a test pilot as soon as the Weissritter began construction. Officially, it was just a summer job. Unofficially, he began to design weapons for the company.
For years, he lived his dream. Getting to design things to be used by the Earth Federation. Overseeing construction on a mech of his own. Then one day, the Earth Federation arrived at his front door while he was drawing up schematics for the Oxtongue Rifle. His father had been killed in a test run of a new weapon designed by Roy. His mother was heartbroken, and died about four months later, much like if you take the mate away from a lovebird. Roy had to sideline the construction of the Weissritter, the mech laying half complete, as he assumed the head of his parents company at barely twenty years old.
Stocks, suprisingly, soared. It never went public that he designed the weapon that killed his father. He invented new safety measures, as well, that catapulted his company into the top ten weapons developers for the EF. Eventually, the company began to climb even higher, Roy having completely forgotten about his own dreams to live out the dreams of his parents. Forcing himself to forget himself to make them proud.
That was when he won an ancient artifact called a "Blu-Ray" in an auction. It completed his collection of ancient materials revolving around The Dark Knight. Batman. He had already laid his hands on the other two movies in what we currently call the Chris Nolan Batman Saga. So he reverse engineered a way to watch them, all three of them, in rapid succession.
His life changed. He remembered himself.
Within a week, construction of the Weissritter resumed, new technologies making its completion approach faster than ever. The White Knight, however, would not be kept secret. He let select media outlets take a few, purposefully blurry pictures of "The possible next generation of flying AMU", and circulate rumors of a new breed of mech. The Oxtongue Rifle was also being billed as the new generation in sniper rifle tecnology, even though it wasn't strictly a sniper weapon.
Through misdirection, he would bill his personal mech as te new generation of flying AMU. And in a way, it was. It was mostly experimental technology, a test model itself. It would be the platform with which he tested his new technology, and the enemies of the E.F. would be his testing ground, as would all enemies of Earth...
Personality: Being a recluse most of his life, Roy is a bit akward in public. He gives good speeches, but he doesn't really know how to interact with people on a personal level. Which is something of a problem, as he is a public figure. He especially has problems interacting with women, due to his sheltered upbringing and his emphasis on work in his lifetime.
He is, however, a kindhearted man with an intense sense of justice. He will do whatever is in his power to do the right thing, be it sink half his personal income into charities, or physically fight in his mech. If you actually manage to befriend him, he is feircely loyal to the bitter end, willing to give up his life for his friends, or just a stranger on the street.
Important Possessions: The Weissritter, and a long rifle his father taught him how to shoot with.

Model Designation PTX-007-03C Weissritter (Gespenst Mark II Custom), Mecha name Weissritter
"A man's mech is his pride!" - Kamina
AMU or Carrier Name: Gespenst W, Weissritter
Size: Light
Class: Ranged Flier/i]
Environmental Specialty/Exclusivity: Air speciality
Offensive Tech/Weaponry:
Oxtongue Rifle: A dual-chambered rifle that fires both solid rounds and beams of energy. Each fire mode is run by magazines, the beam fire mode run by battery-like magazines stored in the left thigh of Weissritter, the solid rounds stored in the right. One magazine holds five beams , and one solid magazine holds fifteen rounds. There are five of each magazine stored in the thigh compartments. Note that, as a sniper type weapon, this is an extremely precise rifle. It is not well suited for close quarters combat, but more suited to mid to long range confrontations. It also includes a beam-bayonet run on an independant power source, if the weilder is forced into close quarters combat.
Triple Beam Cannon: A three-Barreled beam cannon. It is not very powerful, but suitable for mid to close range confrontations. Mounted on the left hand, it holds sixty three-barrel shots before the internal power source must be recharged.
Split Missile: Made more for structures than moving targets, these are two missile pods mounted on the mech's back. Each pod holds twenty micro missiles, with no locking capability. Useful to pepper buildings and such with explosives.
Wrist Saber: A wrist mounted beam saber that runs on an internal battery.
Defensive Tech: • Nanite Repair Plating (Reactive) – Prototype repair system used in the AMU Fin, not currently available to the mass market.
• Composite Armor – Lightweight plastic based armor that provides decent defense against all damage types, but does not excel vs. any. Fairly cheap, with good cooling properties and ECM resistance.
• Beam Coating (Passive) – A state of the art tech, uses energized plating to scatter and disperse both beams and plasma. Its threshold is not unlimited however, and eventually the beam coating will melt off after being hit enough times or with a strong enough force.
Other Tech: Spinejack Control System: Completely identical to the Neural Interface, except it is much more strenuous on the body, jacking into the spine instead of the mind, it reads electrical impulses from the central nervous system and translates them directly into the motion of the mech. Note that the body translates this as it actually doing the work, regardless of the circumstances, so this is extremely taxing on the pilot.Since the pilot essentially becomes the unit, it can lead to them feeling...incomplete when outside of the mech, due to the added features of a mech's vision and the like. Note that the pilot recieves feedback injuries from this control device. It doesn't go as far as "Tear the mech's arm off, his arm breaks", but he feels pain when the mech is damaged.
Spinejack V.I. computer system with full terrain/combat analytical and targeting functions. Both visual analysis and radar based.
16x Optical zoom, Night vision, and Thermal Optic filters.
Mid-range, high detail RADAR with Smart Radar tagging.
Diagnostic Scan capabilities.
Advanced ECCM functionality.
Plasma Thrusters – Advanced thrusters that are posed to replace hydrogen thrusters in all modern AMUs. More costly to use, but produce considerable amount of force.
Appearance: See above picture.
Style: A high speed ranged type mech, the Weissritter uses overwhelming speed and range to outmanouver and destroy opponents.
Modules: • Chameleon Pigment – One of the lowest cost stealth systems, this type is optic only. Applied as a paint to the AMU’s surface, it allows the unit to roughly mimic background colors and shapes.
Manufacturer: Atenwood Applied Sciences (Earth Federation Affiliated)
